Welcome to our circuit . . .
The concept of a "Circuit" was introduced by John Wesley in the early days of Methodism as a means of grouping Churches so that their spiritual and administrative needs could be attended to on a rational basis and that they could derive mutual support.  This is still the purpose of the Circuit.

One of the characteristics of those who excel in any art or discipline is that they make what they do seem effortless, or if you like, make it look easy.  The reality is rather different.  All preachers charged with the shape, content, and conduct of worship as well as the delivery of the Word, know that there are times when what is offered owes as much to perspiration as inspiration.  The Holy Spirit may be involved in our preparation, but we are rarely given a free ride.  Increasingly, too, although the onus and responsibility for a meaningful act of worship devolves on the preacher, we are asked to work harmoniously with those with talents and gifts which a local church offers.  So we look to scripture, hymn and song books, lectionary where appropriate, as we prepare, but more and more, we also look to one another within the body of Christ that is His church.
This website, then provides essential practical information for locals and visitors about the places where local societies meet for worship, and lists resources available for preachers as they fulfill their calling.
